Pölkky Kuusamon leirissä tapahtuu. Naisten Mestaruusliigassa puolivälieriin jääneellä joukkueella on menetyksiä, hankintoja ja jatkosopimuksia.

Näillä näkymin hakkuri Malina Terrellin pelit Kuusamossa ovat ohi. Hän oli runkosarjassa Mestaruusliigan hakkuritilaston ykkönen ja pistepörssin kakkonen.

– Kuusamosta lähteminen oli kova paikka. Kausi jäi lyhyeksi, mutta siitä jäi käteen paljon positiivista. Muistelen ikuisesti seikkailuani lämmöllä. Matka jatkuu, Terrell kirjoitti somessa.

FYI: Long post: I can’t deny my disappointment and the sadness of the ending of our season so soon….we had a solid start and truly believed we would have a strong finish and that’s what hurts…but you know that’s part of growing in your sport and growing as a team when things don’t go the way you wanted…we started to find our identity early on.. starting from pre season….we went into games with the motto of ”LETS BE TOUGH BITCHES on court ” (seriously, and it worked)….and fearless… all while being able to control our temperament and remained calm when we were down… that was OUR strength.. especially on the road… somehow I feel after the start of the second half we lost a little bit of who we became…and struggled to find that fire again…. there’s no doubt that we all believed in one another…. but with that it’s important to also believe in self.. believe that you can give 100% to the women around you… just as they are doing for you…leaving Kuusamo was tough today.. there’s so many positive things I can take from this season despite it being cut short… I have grown so much and truly began to find myself as a player.. I’ve had some bad performances.. but I’ve also had some great performances that I never knew lived inside of me…this has been my most successful year and I couldn’t have achieved so without the people around me and I will cherish them forever…Thank you @polkkykuusamo ..staff, coaches, sponsors…for the opportunity to play for this club…. to my girls…I can’t thank you enough for the bond I have created with each of you, a sisterhood I’ll hold close to my heart, the laughs, the tears, even the crazy nights, the great wins, the tragic losses…remember to stay true to who you are, and love who you are, because I know I do ….My adventure with you will be cherished forever 😌❤🙏🏽 …..and so…. the journey continues….#year4inthebooks #volleyball #mestaruusliiga #finland #Kuusamo #polkky #orangesleeves #elitevolleyagency #nxtupathletics #athletesabroad #MTVolley

Myös keskitorjuja Mara Green jättänee Pölkyn. Tärkeän yleispelaajan Olena Prokopenkon tilanteesta seura ei ole toistaiseksi tiedottanut.


Pölkyn uusi hankinta on nuori yleispelaaja Jenna Mustonen. Savonlinnan Ajosta saapuva Mustonen kuuluu vuosikertaan 2002, ja mittaa on 177 senttimetriä.

– Jenna ei tule meille kehityspelaajaksi, vaan hän on yksi kahdestatoista sopimuspelaajasta. Jos ja kun hän on koko lukioaikansa Kuusamossa, niin peliaikakin lisääntyy vähitellen, Pölkyn kakkosvalmentaja Ismo Paananen sanoi Itä-Savolle.

Yksivuotiset jatkosopimukset ovat solmineet yleispelaaja Essi Helminen, passari Venla Huurne, yleispelaaja Veera Hämäläinen, libero Iina Niemelä ja keskitorjuja Nea Haatainen.

Tuomas Alatalo jatkaa päävalmentajana.
